Are We All Forgotten
I snagged this Paper Route EP shortly after I saw them open for Innerpartysytem at Diesel. Though only 5 songs long, it does not fail to disappoint.
The title track made it onto PR's full length Debut Absence, and it's easy to see why. These guys blend ambient music with genius lyrics to make big music that is lost in the world of Gaga and Ke$ha. The best song on the EP is You Kill Me--an emotional romp through falling out of love that is right up there with Space Dye Vest in terms of breakup songdom. That song is reason enough to buy the EP.
Also, the final track on this EP, Waiting For the Final Leaf to Fall will always remind me of when lead singer Andy Smith set up shop in what appeared to be an abandoned storefront, started singing the song, and woke up a baby in a second floor apartment. Ha.
