Crimson Thunder

While Swedish bands usually show up in my album collection for making reggae based electronic music, I do occaisionally dabble in Scandinavian Power Metal. I first learned of Hammerfall due to a music video that was a tribute to my favorite Olympic spot, and featured the Swedish Women's team that would go on to gold medal in that sport. I speak of course, about curling.

Awesome music videos aside, this album has all the cheesy power metal you could ever ask for. Lyrics about Templars, Broadswords, and Mithril make for good headbanging music. And of course, whats a Swedish power metal album without a midieval sounding power ballad? Lore of the Arcane delivers all the cheese you could ever want.

There's nothing groundbreaking or unique on this album, but it is a fun listen.
