Goodbye To Romance: Standards for a New Generation

Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick got the great idea to team up with two of his New York Jazz scene buddies and form the Alex Skolnick Trio, a band that does instrumental jazz covers of metal songs. It was a great idea.

Goodbye To Romance was the first album of this new project. It's hard to imagine that something that takes songs like Dream On and Detroit Rock City and turns them into elevator music would be good, but strangely it is.

This may be somewhat of a novelty album, but it is done very well, and is definitely worth a listen.
