Left of Self-Centered

Fresh off of the dissolution of The Marvelous Three, Butch Walker released this solo album. While there are some good tracks that show off Butch's comedic stylings (the intro track is hilarious), the music is very high school rock. In fact I think It managed to get a Parental Advisory sticker because no fresh faced Freak of the Week singer could ever say "fuck" in a song without causing a stir. Ha.

There is one standout track on the album, though; one that would hint at the direction his music would go. That, of course, is Sober. Building off of the sound of the Marvelous 3's best song (Cigarette Lighter Love Song), Butch brings the introspection and raw emotion that would make his subsequent albums amazing.
