Moving Pictures is the quintessential Rush recording from the 80s. Tom Sawyer became their greatest hit, Limelight has a strong presence also, and most people have at least a passing familiarity with YYZ and Red Barchetta.
While Limelight was my longstanding favorite Rush song (at least until I started playing Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2) and the reason why I bought this album, the other tracks on the album keep me coming back for more. Vital Signs is an awesome track and I can't believe it doesn't get more recognition. Also this album has The Camera Eye, which is longstanding fodder for inside jokes due to it's extremely corny synth intro.
This is Rush's best album, and a must have in any collection.
