Now I Got Worry
You know way back in the year 2000 or so, bands like The Strokes, The Vines, The Hives, various other bands with a plural noun preceded by the article "the" and the out of place White Stripes were getting popular thanks to a stripped down, muddy sound, and I thought to myself, how is this stuff any different from what Jon Spencer was doing in 1996?
The answer of course is that it lacked the staying power. Years after I put my Vines cd in the big book o'cds i don't listen to that often, Now I Got Worry still stays in my car library. Whether it be because of John Spencer's hamming it up Elvis impersonator style, or just the wacky lyrics and riffs, but this is just one damn good album.
I bought the album, primarly based on Wail, but there are so many other good songs on it, Eyeballin, Rocketship, Can't Stop, and of course Chicken Dog. This is one of those albums you put in and just rock out to. A must have
