Past Times With Good Company
After releasing Fires at Midnight, Ritchie and Candace decided to release a double live album. Nothing on the album is all that spectacular, but then again, I don't listen to Blackmore's Night for 80% of their music. I'm sure hearing Play Minstral Play or Beyond the Sunset would be great if you were at a ren fest and drunk on mead and turkey legs.
The two "covers" on this album make it worth something. Candace lends her voice to the old Coverdale era Deep Purple song Soldier of Fortune, and then completely tears up 16th Century Greensleeves. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some Ronnie James Dio, but once you've heard the Blackmore's Night version of the song, the Rainbow version ceases to exist.
