Stop Making Sense
This is one of my top 3 favorite live albums, and possible one of the greatest live albums of all time. Recorded as both a film and live album, Stop Making Sense was released in between Speaking in Tongues and Little Creatures.
What makes this album so great is the evolution that takes place on stage. The album opens with David Byrne playing Psycho Killer by himself, accompanied by a drum machine. Slowly more and more band members join him on stage, until by the time we get to Burning Down the House, the entire expanded touring band is involved, including Bernie Worell on keys and Steve Scales going nuts on percussion. To truly appreciate this album, you need to watch it all unfold on screen. A must have for any fan of Talking Heads.
