When a new Devin Townsend album comes out, you can never be quite sure what you are going to get, but undoubtedly there's going to be some great songs, some filler songs, and some tongue in cheek amazing songs. Synchestra delivers on all three.

Vampira and Gaia are the two best songs on the album, with a lot of the others just being meaningless filler. Prior to Vampira we are treated to one of the albums two gifts, Vampolka. Vampolka is exactly what you think it is. The second gift comes in the form of the hidden track, Sunshine and Happiness. I'm pretty sure that is the most quintessential Devy that was ever created.

This album isn't an instant classic like Ziltoid or his new 4 disc Devin Townsend Project, but it's good enough for me.
