Trying to Never Catch Up

The debut album of Austin, TX band What Made Milwaukee Famous is great from start to finish. It is so great that it got them onto the Austin City Limits stage before the were signed to a real record label (The first band ever to do this in ACL's 30+ years).

This album is a mix of 80s keyboard licks and indie rock guitars, with a little bit of pop vocals thrown in there. Idecide, Hellodrama, and Selling Yourself short are awesome tracks. And you cannot deny the last two songs, Sweet Lady, and Building a Boat from the Boards in Your Eye.

This is music that everyone will like, thats why you have never heard of it, and when you do, you will file it under every other band that makes music everyone likes. Music that everyone likes has no lasting power, sadly.
